Effective 22 September 2026. This policy applies to purchases from California Café, including CV Studio, printing, document assistance, design, repairs, hosting and domain services. It forms part of our terms of sale. Mandatory consumer rights take priority over any conflicting term.
1. Contact us about an order
Email info@calicafe.co.za, call 069 169 3410, or visit 2059 Fiatelo Street, Nhlapo Section, Katlehong, Germiston, 1431. Include your name, order or Yoco payment reference, the service purchased and the reason for your request. Where relevant, include a screenshot of the fault with personal information hidden.
Never send card numbers, PINs, passwords or OTPs. We only request information reasonably needed to identify the transaction and resolve the issue.
2. Cancellation before work starts
You may cancel by contacting us. If we have not started the work, supplied the product or incurred an authorised third-party cost, we will refund the amount paid in full. We confirm the cancellation in writing. If we cannot fulfil your order, we will offer a suitable alternative only with your agreement, or refund the unfulfilled portion.
3. Work already started and custom orders
Before starting custom work, we agree the scope, price, deliverables, revision arrangements and any third-party charges with you. If you cancel after work begins, we calculate a fair refund for the unused portion. Any deduction must reflect reasonable, lawfully recoverable work or costs already incurred; we provide an itemised explanation. Deposits are not automatically non-refundable.
We do not charge for unperformed work merely because it was prepaid. Any cancellation charge remains subject to applicable law and cannot remove your rights where our service is defective or we have breached the agreement.
4. CV templates and digital products
Each CV template is purchased individually at the price shown before payment. Buying one template does not unlock the entire collection. The product description explains the included exports and tools.
If payment succeeds but access is not supplied, a file is corrupt, or the product materially differs from its description, contact us. We will investigate and provide an appropriate correction, replacement or refund in accordance with your legal rights. Downloading a file does not waive rights concerning defects or misleading descriptions.
Change-of-mind and cooling-off requests are handled under the rules applicable to the transaction, including any lawful exceptions. We do not impose a blanket “no refunds on digital products” rule. A refund for a cancelled digital purchase ends the corresponding paid access; it does not remove access to other separately purchased templates.
Word documents may reflow between software applications. A scanned document is an image, not a certified copy or a guarantee of OCR accuracy. Disclosed format limitations do not excuse a defective product.
5. Printing, repairs and application assistance
Please check proofs and requirements before authorising production or submission. If our work is faulty, contact us with your receipt and relevant details. We provide the correction, re-performance, replacement or refund required in the circumstances and by law. Where an error arose from information you supplied, we explain any agreed charge before doing additional work.
Application assistance does not guarantee admission, employment, funding, government approval or any third-party outcome. Separate official fees must be disclosed before you authorise them.
6. Domains and hosting
Hosting renews monthly or annually at the renewal price shown at checkout. Annual hosting periods are paid upfront. We issue renewal invoices for payment through Yoco; this integration does not automatically charge your card. Hosting cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Request cancellation through the WHMCS client area or contact us. Refund requests are reviewed individually, subject to the terms below and applicable consumer rights.
A domain enquiry is not a reservation. We confirm availability, registration and renewal prices, hosting periods and applicable cancellation terms before accepting an order. Third-party costs require your authorisation.
A completed registration or renewal may not be reversible under registry rules. We explain any lawfully non-recoverable cost and assess unused hosting fairly against the agreed service and applicable law. No supplier rule overrides mandatory consumer rights. Cancelling hosting does not by itself transfer a domain; contact us about transfer arrangements and retaining your data.
7. Duplicate, failed or unauthorised payments
We refund confirmed duplicate charges. Send both transaction references where available. A pending card authorisation may be released by your bank rather than refunded as a completed payment; we help establish the transaction status. If you suspect an unauthorised payment, notify your bank promptly and contact us. You do not need our permission to raise a dispute with your bank.
8. Yoco refunds and processing
For payments collected through Yoco, we initiate eligible full or partial refunds through Yoco to the original payment method where supported. California Café remains responsible for resolving your order complaint; Yoco provides payment processing. Sending a request does not automatically initiate a refund.
We aim to acknowledge requests within two business days and provide an outcome or progress update within five business days. Once a refund is agreed or legally due, we initiate it promptly, aiming for five business days or any shorter applicable legal deadline. We confirm the amount, submission date and available reference. These service targets do not extend statutory deadlines.
The time for money to appear in your account depends on the payment method, Yoco and your bank. Submission is not the same as completed settlement. Contact us if a refund has not arrived so we can trace it. If the original method cannot receive the refund, we agree a secure alternative with the verified payer. We do not charge a separate refund administration fee.
9. Your rights and complaints
Nothing in this policy limits applicable rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, including applicable cooling-off rights and remedies. Conditions and exceptions depend on the transaction. Where a statutory refund deadline applies, we comply with it.
If you disagree with our response, ask us to review it and provide a written explanation. You may also approach the relevant consumer regulator, ombud, your payment provider or a court. This policy does not require you to waive those options. Later policy changes do not reduce rights attached to an existing purchase.
